Have you been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 already? If so, you can now travel to Baguio City without having to present a negative swab test result.
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong announced on 5 Jul 2021 that fully vaccinated visitors may forego the mandatory swab test, as long as they have a valid vaccination card or certificate. Authorities would assess the legitimacy of vaccination documents through the triage.
Baguio travel protocols: What fully vaccinated tourists should know
Following his public announcement, Mayor Magalong issued an executive order effective 5 Jul 2021 revising the travel protocols of Baguio City. Fully vaccinated non-residents travelling for leisure will still be required to present one valid government-issued ID, their approved QR-coded tourist pass (QTP), and their COVID-19 domestic vaccination card.
The city government further clarified that only those who have received their complete COVID-19 doses at least two weeks prior to travel will be allowed entry. To view the updated guidelines for those visiting Baguio (dated 19 Jul 2021), visit the DOT’s official announcement here.
As of writing, around 95,000 people have been vaccinated in Baguio. The city anticipates 380,000 more vaccine doses to arrive within the next few months.
