We’ve come to a point in our lives that literally every single peso and second counts. For telecom subscribers, it also means knowing how to maximise our data’s worth. That way, you can surf the internet, watch videos, launch virtual meetings, or play mobile games more efficiently.
In Globe‘s case, this is no longer much of a problem, as the company started letting its subscribers convert their Globe unused data into something more valuable. Effective March 2021, if you have leftover Globe or TM data, you can use it in the form of rewards points to redeem other products. These include Viu subscriptions, GrabFood deliveries, gaming, or Lazada credits.

Once you’ve subscribed to these services, you can automatically start converting data to rewards points through the GlobeOne or TM app. Here’s how:
- Open the GlobeOne app or TM app.
- Once on the Dashboard, click Convert Data.
- Choose the amount of data (Globe Prepaid/TM customers) or data plan (Globe Postpaid, Platinum, and Home Prepaid WiFi customers) you want to convert.
- Click Convert.
- Wait for rewards points to be seeded within 24 hours.
- Redeem mobile promos or lifestyle vouchers using the Globe Rewards app.
Rate and data conversion tips
If you are unable to see the Convert Data tool, it’s either because you did not register to an open or all-access data promo or you have insufficient data wallet allocation. To know how much data costs in rewards points, see the following chart.
There is no limit to using the service as long as you have enough data left. However, Globe says that “promo is subject to the transaction cap of five (5) Globe Rewards transactions per day (except for BUY or Points-As-Cash transactions) and for gifting, it’s once a day only.”
Globe warns not to convert all your Globe unused data at once to avoid being charged with regular mobile browsing rates. Also, you can only convert active, unused open or all-access data. If your data has expired, then you’re no longer eligible to use the conversion service.
