You know how in almost every K-drama, the main characters love to frequent a particular coffee shop? They’re usually well-lit, Instagrammable, and serve comforting cups of coffee alongside sweet treats. If that sounds familiar, you’ll be happy to know that this Korean cafe experience is something you can enjoy right here in Manila.
Hisbeans Coffee, a South Korean cafe brand known for its social mission, continues to welcome customers at its Quezon City branch and remains a meaningful stop for cafe-hoppers in the city.

Beyond its polished interiors and premium coffee, Hisbeans Coffee stands out for something far more impactful. The brand is widely recognised for empowering persons with disabilities, particularly those with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and schizophrenia.
This advocacy remains at the heart of the brand, making every visit feel more meaningful than a typical cafe stop.

According to The Korea Herald, employment opportunities in service sectors such as cafes and restaurants are often limited for people with disabilities. Hisbeans actively works to change this by creating safe and supportive workspaces. A large majority of their baristas and cashiers are persons with mental disabilities, both in South Korea and in their international locations.
“I hope Hisbeans can provide a safe space for our baristas and customers to communicate with each other freely,” CEO Lee Min-bok shared in an interview. “By communicating, I believe we can all find encouragement and healing.”

Since opening its first branch, Hisbeans Coffee has expanded to multiple locations across South Korea before bringing its advocacy-driven cafe experience overseas.
The Quezon City location is Hisbeans Coffee’s first international branch, making Manila a special part of the brand’s global journey.

Located along Timog Avenue in Quezon City, Hisbeans Coffee Philippines continues to operate and serve customers. The cafe follows the same mission as its South Korean counterparts by training and employing PWDs locally.
The space remains popular among students, professionals, and cafe-hoppers thanks to its calm atmosphere, Instagram-worthy corners, and specialty-grade Arabica coffee. Whether you’re dropping by for a quiet coffee break, a casual meeting, or content photos, the cafe fits right into the Quezon City coffee scene.
