South Korea has been at the forefront of the 2D café concept in Asia. And those who have been to Seoul cafés like Yeonnam-Dong 223-14 and Greem Café can agree that there’s something subtly magical about mixing good coffee (or tea) and minimalist aesthetics together. While we can’t go to South Korea just yet, you can experience this very concept at a newly opened 2D café in Metro Manila.
Located along Scout Limbaga in Quezon City, Kurimi Milk Tea Bar Tomas Morato クリーミー has recently caught Filipino photographers and café lovers’ eyes for its Instagrammable interior and creative yet affordable beverages. What’s more, it lets you experience not just Seoul and its innovative café culture, but also two other well-loved East Asian destinations!

Besides the strictly monochromatic colour motif and the optical illusion brought about by the well-thought-out black linings, Kurimi Milk Tea Bar Tomas Morato also features famous Japanese sceneries through its wall and window drawing designs. There’s Mount Fuji on one side and a cherry blossom tree (accompanied by a peeking cow character) on another.
Unlike some of the above-mentioned cafés in South Korea, the new 2D café in Metro Manila was inspired by Taiwan’s milk tea craze, offering milk-based products in all kinds of flavours. All their teas are even sourced from Taiwan!

Currently, their bestsellers include the Kurimi Milk Tea Baby Special – Oreo Cheesecake with Pearl (from ₱130). They also serve fruit teas, including the Honey Peach with Mixed Popping Boba (from ₱85) and the Passion Fruit-Lychee with Mixed Jelly (from ₱100)
As for orders, customers can choose from Kurimi Milk Tea Bar Tomas Morato’s takeout, delivery, or curbside pick-up options. Dining in is also allowed, but expect limited seating capacity plus other health and safety protocols. These include having a phone-based contact-tracing system, a thermometer stand, an automatic alcohol dispenser, and nightly disinfection of the entire shop.
