Are you tired of the usual Baguio spots like Burnham Park or Mines View Park?

If yes, there’s a new place you can add to your itinerary!

Dragon Treasure Castle in Upper Irisan looks like it came straight out of Game of Thrones. You’ll see tall stone walls, towers, a grand entrance, and even a historic limestone formation called the Kissing Rock. The castle sits on a hill, so you get sweeping views of the valleys below, the famous sea of clouds in the morning, and colourful sunsets in the afternoon. It opened in February 2025 and is perfect for anyone looking for something different while exploring the City of Pines!

How to get there

If you have been to Baguio, you know how tricky getting from point A to point B can be. Traffic is often heavy, especially on weekends and holidays, and walking long distances can be tiring. The Dragon Treasure Castle is accessible, but it’s a good idea to plan your trip in advance. Depending on how you travel, you can either take public transport or drive there yourself.

By Public Transport

Jeepney: Take the NPC Housing Jeep from Kayang Street and ask to be dropped off at Yubos CPND. It is a short walk from there to the castle. This option is cheap and convenient if you are familiar with Baguio’s jeepney routes. Make sure to confirm the drop-off point with the driver to avoid unnecessary walking.

Taxi: Ask the driver to go to Irisville Subdivision Phase 2 or Dragon’s Lair B&B. Estimated fare: PHP 150–250 depending on traffic. Taxis are a comfortable option, especially for small groups or those carrying luggage.

By Private Vehicle

Use Google Maps and search for Dragon’s Lair B&B to ensure accurate directions. From Session Road or City Hall, take Naguilian Road to Irisville Subdivision Phase 2, then follow signs to Jade Street and the castle.

Parking: Buses PHP 100, private vehicles PHP 50, motorcycles PHP 30. Parking is available but can fill up quickly during weekends or holidays. Arriving early ensures you get a good spot and a smoother start to your visit.

Travel time from city landmarks varies between 15 and 35 minutes depending on traffic. Driving yourself is convenient for families or groups who want flexibility to explore nearby attractions afterward.

The timing of your visit can change your experience completely.

  • Early Morning (6–8 AM): Best for catching the sea of clouds, a natural phenomenon where thick mist covers the valleys below. It is also cooler in the morning, which makes walking around the castle more comfortable.

  • Late Afternoon (4–6 PM): Ideal for sunsets, with golden light illuminating the castle and the surrounding landscape.

  • Dry Season (November to April): Clear skies and better weather make for safer travel and better photos. Heavy rains from June to October can obstruct views and make walking around less comfortable.

Planning your visit according to the weather and time of day ensures you get the most out of your experience.
