Good news for travellers heading to the Middle East. Philippine Airlines has officially resumed its flights between Manila and Riyadh starting 10 April, restoring one of the most important air routes linking the Philippines to Saudi Arabia.
The route was previously suspended due to safety concerns linked to tensions in the Middle East. After closely monitoring the situation and reviewing flight operations in the region, the airline decided it was safe to restart the service. The move is expected to help reconnect many passengers travelling between the two countries, especially those with family, work, or long planned trips in the region.
For many Filipinos, the Manila to Riyadh route is an important connection between the Philippines and Saudi Arabia, serving travellers flying between the two countries for work, family visits, and holidays.
While flights are back, there is a small operational adjustment for now. Flights will temporarily follow an alternate route, which means the aircraft will make a short technical refuelling stop in Bangkok before continuing the journey to Riyadh.
This stop is only for refuelling, and passengers will remain on board the aircraft while it takes place. After the short stop, the flight will continue to its final destination.
Although this adds a brief pause to the journey, the adjustment allows the airline to operate flights while avoiding certain airspace areas currently being monitored. Passenger and crew safety remains the airline’s top priority.
Travellers flying between Manila and Riyadh can once again book flights with Philippine Airlines following the resumption of the route.
However, the refuelling stop in Bangkok is temporary. The airline shared that normal flight routing will return once conditions in the region improve.
Passengers are advised to check their flight details and official airline updates before travelling, as schedules and routing may still change depending on the situation.

The Manila to Riyadh route plays a key role in connecting the Philippines with the Middle East. It supports not only work related travel but also family reunions, holidays, and other personal trips.
With flights now resumed, travellers heading to Saudi Arabia once again have a convenient option through Philippine Airlines, the country’s national flag carrier.
For the latest flight schedules and updates, travellers can check the official website or social media pages of Philippine Airlines before planning their trip.
