Sine Pop: All About This House-Turned-Boutique Cinema in Quezon City

If your idea of a perfect date involves vintage architecture and indie films rather than overpriced popcorn and noisy mall crowds, you need to head to Cubao.

Sine Pop is a post-war home that’s been flipped into a stunning boutique cinema, and it’s basically a sanctuary for film geeks. No giant LED billboards or frantic commuters here. Just a 1948 mansion, a literal bamboo forest, and some of the best local and international films you’ll ever see on a big screen.

About Sine Pop

Sine Pop is a boutique theatre inside a restored 1948 house located in a serene part of Cubao. The house is situated on a 750sqm lot and was built and designed by its owner, Sotero Pasion Eugenio, a Civil Engineer from Laoag City, and his wife, Lourdes Sabas Segui. The Eugenio family lived in this home for nearly 70 years before it was converted into a boutique theatre. Since then, they rarely changed anything in the house to preserve its natural beauty.

It was only in 2017 that their son, Pedro Eugenio, started to modify some portions of the house. He introduced modern designs to some areas while maintaining the property’s original interior. This is where the cafe and movie theatre was built.

Aside from the cafe and the cinema, visitors are also fascinated by the bamboo forest found on their balcony — not to mention the beautiful painting display on the second floor. You will for sure leave this unique in-house theatre with happy eyes, minds, and hearts! Here, you won’t only get to enjoy a movie, but a fantastic experience touring this vintage home as well.

How to get tickets to a film screening

Sine Pop has expanded its schedule beyond just Sundays. While they still hold special free screenings for local indie films, they now host various ticketed events and film festivals throughout the week. Because it’s an intimate space, you can’t just walk in and expect a seat. Everything is done via reservation.

  • How to book. Check their Instagram or Facebook page for the latest schedule and send them a DM to secure a slot.

  • Private Hire. If you want to feel like a total mogul, you can actually rent out the entire place for private screenings, birthdays, or "main character" photoshoots.
