Since 1 Jul 2022, Thailand has streamlined their processing for travellers and tourists who wish to visit the country.

Visitors who want to spend 30 days or less in Thailand will no longer need a visa under their Visa Exemption Program, as long as their country is included in the program. Should the need to stay in the country for more than 30 days arise, visitors must apply for a visa from the Embassy of Thailand or the Consulate of Thailand prior to their arrival in Thailand. You can also stay in Thailand for five, 10, and even 20 years by applying for the Thailand Elite Visa.

While it’s easier to travel to Thailand now, there still remain specific requirements for vaccinated and unvaccinated tourists. Fortunately, you can acquire these easily

Vaccinated tourists must present any proof of vaccination upon arrival in the country. Meanwhile, unvaccinated tourists\ must present a negative COVID-19 test result taken from an RT-PCR test or professional antigen testing centre within 72 hours before flying to Thailand. Unvaccinated tourists are also required to undergo a health screening from officials of either the airline service they used or while in immigration.

Other than the previously mentioned documents, you must also secure the following:

  • Valid passport or border pass
  • Hotel booking during the stay
  • Proof of onward travel in 30 days or less
