Sometimes we need a little TLC.
No one knows for sure when foldable bathtubs became a thing. But what we can tell is that they’ve been around long enough for some people to try them and decide whether or not they’re worth the buy. More than the budget, are they really comfortable to use? Do they use sturdy materials to make them last longer? Wouldn’t they just mean additional space for already compact bathrooms?

To address these concerns, first, what exactly are foldable bathtubs? As their name suggests, these creations are basically portable tubs or barrels that let you soak in water to clean yourself. Apart from being foldable, they’re different from a traditional bathtub in that they don’t have to be permanently installed in a bathroom, weigh lighter, and are far less expensive.
Foldable bathtubs are also different from inflatable swimming pools, which many of us here in the Philippines are well aware of. They’re certainly smaller and can only accommodate one bathing adult at a time. Not to mention, they won’t let you swim around like in a pool as they’re literally built for bathing.

According to Benbo International, one of a few foldable bathtub sellers online, their products can be installed without the need for tools. This means that you can easily prepare the tub for use on your own. Because of their size, these tubs allow you to bathe like you’re in your own private hot spring. Great for socially distanced baths!
The Benbo Tubs have a 70cm diameter and stand 65cm. You can fit them in bathrooms with a width of only 110cm. They also come with multiple layers of Oxford cloth, thickened cotton, and other materials that help keep your preferred water temperature for up to two hours.
Other features of these foldable bathtubs, at least those of Benbo, include valve drains to prevent the water from reaching the floor, a non-inflatable design to avoid air leakage issues, and high-pressure brackets to keep them in place. “Even if it is filled with water, it will not break. It can be folded for easy storage. It’s like being in a swimming pool,” one online buyer said.
