The bookstore announced the news on their social media platforms on 13 Jan 2022. Their stores at Torre Lorenzo in Taft Avenue and Century Mall in Makati City permanently closed their doors on 13 Jan 2022 and 14 Jan 2022. Eventually, the Ayala Vertis North branch in Quezon City will follow on 1 Feb 2022.
They also announced the temporary closing of their branches in S Maison in Pasay City and Ayala Malls The 30th in Pasig City. That being said, these stores won’t be open until further notice. For more news and updates, be sure to check out their official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
Fully Booked has not disclosed the reason behind the unexpected decision. Some might think that this could be a sign of the times, while others are hoping these stores will find their way back home. Nevertheless, they’re encouraging bookworms and readers alike to visit other branches or to purchase books on their webstore.
Beyond its comprehensive collection and distinct atmosphere, Fully Booked always comes up with new ways to cultivate the customer experience. In line with their passion for knowledge and storytelling, they have been providing spaces for writing workshops, book fairs, and other fun events to reimagine what a book business could look like. But with the onset of the pandemic, it has truly changed the game for businesses rooted in arts and literature.
