Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and for people who don’t have significant others, 14 Feb is just another normal, boring day. In fact, it’s a running joke that this day has been totally wiped out of the calendar for singles who consider themselves unlucky in love.

But who says you can’t enjoy love day when you’re single on Valentine’s Day? Gone are the days when this holiday was only for couples. Sure, it can be nice to spend it with a partner, but one person also deserves all the love that you can give: Yourself!

You’re the main character of your life — Valentine’s Day or not. So why not take yourself out on a date? Head to a cafe and get your favourite coffee, take a walk at the park with your pet, go to a library and read a book, or better yet, make a fancy dinner reservation for one! There is no shame in eating out alone. Some people find solitude in taking themselves out on a date, so if you haven’t tried it out, this is your sign!

2. Spend time with friends

Valentine’s Day is not only for romantic partners — it’s also for our friends! In fact, being single on Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to catch up and plan a date with your barkada. Take this chance to make a reservation at a restaurant and eat good food with good people in your life.
