Don’t miss this chance!

I remember during quarantine thinking that everything was just about problems. Lockdowns. Uncertainty. Bad news after bad news. It felt like there was nothing magical left, just routines and survival mode. But every now and then, a story comes along that quietly proves otherwise.
In the small town of Asingan, Pangasinan, something unexpectedly beautiful happened. A delivery rider and an online shopper, two people whose paths crossed through everyday transactions, ended up choosing each other for life.
Marlon Cajucom, a Lazada delivery rider, and Jhasin May Benito, an online shopping suki, exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony officiated by the town’s mayor. Simple, heartfelt, and deeply personal, their wedding felt like a reminder that love does not pause just because the world does.

Before the love story, there was nothing extraordinary on the surface. Both Marlon and Jhasin had already been living in Asingan long before they truly noticed each other. Their first real interaction happened the way many modern connections do, through deliveries.
Marlon would regularly deliver parcels to Jhasin’s home, where her mother, Mary Grace Benito, was a frequent online shopper. It was Mary Grace who first saw something special in the hardworking rider who kept showing up, rain or shine.
What made Marlon stand out was not a grand gesture or a dramatic introduction. It was his persistence.
One night, he arrived late to complete a delivery, surprising the family with his dedication. Curious, Mary Grace asked him questions about his life. When she learned he was still single, she asked why he worked so hard when he did not yet have a family to support.
His answer stayed with her.
“Kasama sa pangarap ko yung magpursige sa buhay.”
He shared that working hard was already part of his dream, even before building a family of his own. That quiet determination left an impression, and soon enough, introductions were made.
As Marlon began courting Jhasin, his effort became impossible to miss. Despite long hours and a demanding schedule, he always found time to show up, sometimes quite literally at her doorstep.
Jhasin later shared that his consistency and sincerity made her feel valued. Even when he was busy with deliveries, he made sure she felt remembered, from surprise flowers to small gestures that carried real meaning.
For Marlon, the idea that someone like Jhasin would notice him at all felt unreal at first. He admitted he never expected much, thinking she might be out of his league. But what stood out to him was her kindness. She was approachable, easy to talk to, and genuine, especially after seeing him multiple times through his work.

A delivery rider marries an online shopper! Marlon Cajucom and Jhasin May Benito officially got hitched on 26 Jan 2021.
A delivery rider marrying an online shopper may sound like a headline made for the internet, but at its core, it is simply a story about two people meeting at the right time, in the most ordinary way.
Marlon and Jhasin’s love story proves that even during periods when life feels heavy and repetitive, something magical can still unfold quietly. Love does not always arrive with fireworks. Sometimes, it comes with a parcel, a late delivery, and a person who refuses to give up on their dreams.
So the next time you place an online order, do not lose hope. You may not find The One at your doorstep, but you might just get a reminder that love still finds its way, even when you least expect it.
